Cosmetic Bonding
Cosmetic bonding involves the application of a tooth-colored composite resin (filling) material to the teeth to correct a wide range of cosmetic dental issues. The resin is applied to the surface of the teeth and shaped and polished to match the color and shape of the surrounding teeth, creating a natural-looking result.
Cosmetic bonding can be used to correct a variety of dental imperfections, including chips, cracks, gaps, stains, and misaligned or uneven teeth. The procedure is relatively quick, often being completed in just one appointment with Dr. Geiger.
The process of cosmetic bonding typically involves several steps. First, we will evaluate your teeth to determine if bonding is the right treatment for you. If so, the teeth will be cleaned and prepared for the bonding material. We will then apply the composite resin to the teeth and shape it to match the surrounding teeth. The resin will then be hardened with a special light and polished to a smooth, natural-looking finish.
One of the advantages of cosmetic bonding is that it is a conservative treatment that can often be used as an alternative to more involved procedures like veneers or crowns. Bonding also often requires minimal removal of tooth structure, which helps to preserve the natural tooth structure.
